Dolakha women take to the street against monkey menace

DOLAKHA, Feb 28: Irked by monkey menace, local women at Sunakhani VDC in Dolakha have taken to the street, demanding that their problem be resolved.

Moreover, around women have reached Charikot, the district headquarters and briefly encircled the District Forest Office (DFO) and District Administration Office to press for the fulfillment of their demands.


Local resident Tulasa Nepali said that hordes of monkey stray into their settlement and feed or destroy crops, vegetables and fruits on a daily basis.

“Monkeys have destroyed all crops and vegetables. The government should do the needful. We came here to seek help without any other option left,” she said.

In response, DFO Chief Bishnu Prasad Bhandari said that his office would do its best to control monkey menace. “If not there is no provision to kill monkeys,” he added. RSS
