The month-long writing workshop will be held in Kathmandu and Udaypur. Filmmakers from nine countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan are invited to apply for this competitive workshop. Though the application date is open till April 2016, the organizers advise interested filmmakers to hurry up with the submission as only the six best applicants will be selected for the workshop. Applicants should send a minimum of six writing samples.
Selected candidates will get the opportunity to learn about script writing from international filmmakers.
Additionally, some participants will also be selected, based on their performance during the workshop, to be part of the Clinik Regional Workshop program.
This workshop will be held for a week while the mentorship will go on for three months. As per the press release, the workshop will ‘emphasize on cross-cultural understanding of cinema practice in the region, content analysis and project development for young filmmakers.’
Apart from Nepal, filmmakers from North East India and Sri Lanka are also open to apply for the workshop. Even films and visual arts groups (two people per group) are eligible to apply.
