Distribution of IDs for poor from Sept 17

KATHMANDU, Sept. 11: The government has initiated necessary homework for distributing ´identity card´ to the people below the poverty line.



Poor Households Identification and Identity Card Management and Distribution Coordination Board gave information about this at a press meet here Tuesday. The card distribution task is likely to begin from September 17.



The third Nepal Livelihood Survey of the total population in the country showed that some 25.2 per cent people are still below the absolute poverty.



Under the first phase, the card distribution task will be launched in 25 districts having high poverty rate, said Board Chairman Janak Raj Joshi.
