Govt issues directive to distribute IDs for poor

KATHMANDU, Sept. 3: The government has decided to appoint Krishna Prasad Acharya the Administrator of the Employees´ Provident Fund.



Minister for Finance Barsha Man Pun told mediapersons that the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday took this decision, which is the first after the formation of the Corporation´s Directive Board. Acharya has been appointed as the Executive Administrator.



Similarly, senior superintendent of police Dr Surendra Kumar Shrestha at Nepal Police Office has been promoted to the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police at the Nepal Police Hospital.



The terms of office of the colonel (technical) of Nepal Army Keshav Pokhrel and Brigadier General Himalaya Thapa have been extended.



The meeting also approved a Guideline on identification of poor households and management and distribution of the identity cards to the poor, 2069.



Poor families would be identified and receive cards as per the guideline.



According to the meeting, Nepal Bar Association would get Rs 500,000 for its 38th central executive council meeting.



Minister Pun said the Cabinet meeting did not raise the agenda of appointment of new Inspector General of Police of Nepal Police today.
