KATHMANDU, April 29: Three women from Sunsari have completed the Mechi-Mahakali tour on wheelchair notwithstanding their physical disabilities.

The three differently-abled women- Tripta Magar, Kamala Niraula and Dipkala Rai- began their tour from the Mechi Bridge, the eastern-most point of the country on March 28 and completed the tour through the entire length of the country upon reaching Gaddacahuki in Mahakali zone in far-west Nepal on April 23.

The National Federation of the Disabled said the three women undertook the journey on wheelchair with the objective of calling for promulgation of constitution in the stipulated time and for ensuring the rights of people with disabilities in the new constitution.

The Federation said that more than 16,000 signatures they had collected in course of the tour have been handed over to chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Nembang on April 27.
