DGAO files case against PAC Chair’s former personal secretary

The District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO), Morang has filed a case against Anil Kumar Pokhrel, the former personal secretary of the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Rishikesh Pokhrel, on charges of fraud.

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO), Morang has filed a case against Anil Kumar Pokhrel, the former personal secretary of the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Rishikesh Pokhrel, on charges of fraud.


The DGAO filed a chargesheet against the accused at the Morang District Court under Section 249, Subsection (1) of the Criminal Code 2074.

The DGAO has demanded a sentence of up to seven-years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 70,000. Hem Bahadur Budhathoki, the information officer of the Morang District Court, said that the statement of Pokharel will be recorded on Thursday.


Pokhrel, who was arrested on January 6, is accused of taking Rs 3.880 million from Bauwa Lal Chaudhary of Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality in Saptari on different dates, to secure admission for a candidate in an MBBS entrance exam.
