Deuba has also called a separate meeting of his close aides at his residence later today to deliberate on the evolving situation. A Central Working Committee (CWC) member said the leadership is weighing both political and legal avenues in response to recent developments at the convention.
Earlier on Monday, Deuba held consultations with senior leaders and party members with legal backgrounds as concerns mounted within the establishment camp over the conduct of the special general convention.
During the closed session, the party’s two general secretaries presented separate reports, and the special general convention endorsed its working procedures.
Party sources said Deuba moved swiftly to convene meetings with his confidants following the approval of the procedures, underscoring deepening unease within the party leadership over the convention’s legitimacy and direction.
