A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) is underway to conduct the hearing of the proposed ambassadors to India, Malaysia, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates.


International Anti-Corruption Day being observed today


The International Anti-Corruption Day is being observed in Nepal by organizing various programs on Sunday. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and Transparency International Nepal chapter are organizing separate functions today in the capital to observe the day.

PM urges for scrutinizing govt stand against corruption


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on civil society to minutely observe the government's resolution against corruption. Receiving a memorandum submitted on behalf of the United Civil Society against Corruption seeking the full implementation of the government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption at the Singha Durbar-based Prime Minister's office, PM Oli reiterated the commitments against corruption from the individual and official levels. 


NHRC: Challenges persist to protect human rights





There are still challenges for the protection of human rights in Nepal despite the formulation of laws in this regard. ​The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) points out this in its annual report which was presented to President Bidya Devi Bhandari today. 


Ravi Inder Singh's ton wins the game for Bhairahawa Gladiators against Pokhara Rhinos


Ravi Inder Singh won the game single-handedly for Bhairahawa Gladiators. Gladiators defeated Rhinos by four wickets. Pokhara Rhinos had set the target of 216 runs. Richard Levi's thunder batting of 79 runs from 36 deliveries put the score to 215 runs.


Beijing threatens Canada of ‘grave consequences' over Huawei executive's arrest






China has ratcheted up the pressure on Canada to release the detained executive of Huawei Technologies over the weekend by threatening “grave consequences” and accusing Canada of “hurting the feelings of the Chinese people”, escalating the case into one of the worst diplomatic rows between Beijing and Ottawa.
