Biratnagar Warriors clinch EPL title


Biratnagar Warriors defeated Bhairahawa Gladiators by a run to clinch the EPL title. Gladiators lost three wickets in the last over only mustering seven runs when they required nine runs to win.



Nepal and Burkina Faso established formal bilateral diplomatic relations


Nepal and Burkina Faso established formal bilateral diplomatic relations today. With the Government of Nepal's special initiative to make the country's bilateral diplomatic relations as universal as possible, the number of countries having direct diplomatic ties with Nepal has now reached 156. In 2017, such ties have been set up with 12 countries–making it the highest number for Nepal to do so in a calendar year so far.

Human rights violation cases up in Udayapur


Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), a non-government organisation working for the protection and promotion of human rights in Nepal, has reported that incidents of human rights violation soared up in Udayapur district.  Human rights watch dog reported as many as 63 cases of human rights violations that took place in the district in the year 2017.


Relief distributed to Musahars affected by cold


Relief materials worth one million rupees were distributed to 102 families of the Musahar community in Maharwa of Gaushala municipality-7.

While the Road Boards Nepal collects Rs. 20 billion annually from road tolls, the Ministry of Finance allocates only Rs. 4 billion to maintain roads. Claiming that good roads would help save vehicle maintenance costs, the Board asked MoF to increase budget for road maintenance.
