KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday declined 10.53 points to close at 2,622.88 points.
The secondary market that settled at 2,633.42 points on Sunday trading inclined eight points in the pre-opening session. However, the index declined to as low as 2,628.34 points in the first half an hour. The market hovered around 2,631 points for the next two and a half hours before it plunged to the day’s low at 2,618.55 points in the last three minutes. The market recovered around four points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Two groups including development banks and mutual funds increased 36.63 points and 0.05 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, life insurance nosedived by the largest of 112.14 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 1.47 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.77 billion from Rs 5.53 billion.
Among the individual companies, 85 were gainers while 165 were recorded as losers. SY Panel Nepal Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 230.24 million. The company was also in the top list of gainers by adding 10 percent of its market value. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the topmost loser of 10 percent.
