KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday plunged 20.56 points to close at 2,544.59 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,565.16 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,569.52 points in the first 11 minutes. The index, however, went into a downswing and hit the day’s low at 2,541.42 points in the five minutes. The market recovered around three points in the remaining period before closing for the day.

Manufacturing and processing was the only group that had its index surged by 16.96 points. Of the 12 losers, life insurance witnessed the largest fall of 128.41 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased 3.33 points. The daily turnover slightly increased to Rs 3.84 billion from Rs 3.62 billion.
Among the individual companies, 49 were gainers while 198 were recorded as losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 403.40 million.
Daramkhola Hydro Energy Limited shed the highest of 8.72 percent of its market value. Two companies, including Bhugol Energy Development Company Limited and Sagar Distillery Limited, gained the highest of 10 percent.
