KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday plummeted 18.40 points to close at 2,487.17 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,505.58 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,522.6 points in the first six minutes of trading. The market however reached the day’s low at 2,479.67 points when trading time was left for three minutes. In the remaining period before the market closed for the day, it recovered around eight points.

Only banking and mutual funds added 0.35 points and 0.04 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, life insurance shed the highest of 101.06 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 1.73 points. The daily turnover however inclined to Rs 3.27 billion from Rs 3.10 billion.
Among the individual companies, 45 were gainers while 197 were recorded as losers. Muktinath Bikas Bank had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 153.09 million.
Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited had the largest fall of 10 percent of its market price. Himalayan Power Partner Ltd gained the highest of 9.93 percent.
