KATHMANDU, May 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday declined 6.51 points to close at 2,730.91 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,730.91 points and rose to day’s high at 2,734.45 points in 17 minutes. In the next one hour, the index had a straight fall to 2,721.13 points. The market plunged to the day’s low at 2,719.61 points in the last 76 minutes, as it recovered around 11 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Four groups were the gainers as non-life insurance and development banks’ indices soared by 60.10 points and 45.36 points, respectively. Of the nine losers, manufacturing and processing shed the largest of 75.79 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased 0.68 points. Daily turnover stood at Rs 3.08 billion, up from Rs 2.45 billion.
Among the individual companies, 113 were the gainers as 145 lost their charms for the investors. City Hotel Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 235.33 million. The company had the largest fall of 6.84 percent of its market value. Corporate Development Bank Limited witnessed the highest gain of 14.26 percent.
