KATHMANDU, Oct 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday plummeted 19.43 points to close at 2,528.16 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,547.59 points and rose to the day’s high at 2,553.07 points in the first 19 minutes. However, the index subsequently fell to as low as 2,526.4 points in the next 50 minutes. This was followed by a series of fluctuations, while the market declined to the day’s low at 2,524.34 points in the last one minute.

Three groups including trading, ‘others’ and mutual funds gained 55.57 points, 18.31 points and 0.01 points, respectively. Of the 10 losers, life insurance shed the highest of 121.43 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined 4.60 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 3.36 billion from Rs 4.97 billion.
Among the individual companies, 33 were gainers while 214 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares, worth Rs 320.78 million.
Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost loser. Two companies, including Shuvam Power Limited and Grameen Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd gained the highest of 10 percent.
