Dahal urges govt to provide relief for flood victims

Kathmandu, June 20: Chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has urged the government to provide swift relief to the flood victims in different districts in mid and far western region, saying that huge loss of life and property was caused due to the floods.[break]



Issuing a press statement on Thursday Dahal urged to immediately carry out the works for rehabilitation and provide necessary compensation to the flood victim people.



Dahal expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by flood and landslide across the country and expressed profound sympathy on behalf himself and his party.



He urged the party cadres to work from their level and support the government in the rescue operations and relief distribution in the flood affected areas.



Meanwhile, Dahal urged the government to hold necessary talks and take initiatives to rescue Nepali pilgrims entrapped in various places including Badrinath and Kedarnath, the famous religious sites in India.
