Chand said that they would discuss ways to make the joint protest program with other opposition parties including Nepali Congress and CPN-UML more effective.

CPN-Maoist had earlier launched street protests against the government terming it ´anti-national´. "The target of fresh protest will be to exert pressure on Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to step down. The protest will create ground for forming a joint national government," added Politburo member Kul Prasad KC.

KC said the street protest will also be targeted against price hikes and hoarding of various daily necessities. "After privatization of all institutions of government, our country is going to hands of the bureaucratic compradors. So, we are going to form a joint front of the all patriotic forced," claimed KC.

Among other things, the meeting also decided to form around 90 district organizing committees including 75 geographical and 15 non-geographical district committees.

The newly formed party has already announced mass meetings in the major cities across the country. While the party general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and Secretary Chand will address the gathering in the capital and in Pokhara, respectively, the party bureau in-charges will address other mass gatherings of the party.
