KOHALPUR, Dec 21: Hundreds of Dalit women have descended in Nepalgunj for the 5th National Conference of Dalit Women, which started from Monday and will conclude on Tuesday.
Major themes discussed were the status of violence against Dalit women, media monitoring of violence against Dalit women, their participation in politics and constitution making as well as the socio-economic status of Dalit women.

Before the conference, a workshop was organized to discuss the major challenges faced by Dalit women from local to national level. Senior advocate Mina Dhungana organized the training program.
Representatives of political parties, human rights organizations, journalists, among others, took part in the program. More than 200 Dalit women have joined the program from across the country.
Empowerment of Dalit women and overall development of their economic condition, political empowerment, education, health, among others, have been discussed in the conference.
