KATHMANDU, March 16: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption charge at the Special Court in Kathmandu against Pawan Kumar Budhathoki for allegedly using fake educational certificates to secure a teaching position.
The CIAA's investigation has confirmed that Budhathoki, a teacher at Chakra Janata Shahid Ganga Secondary School in Barahathawa Municipality, Sarlahi, obtained appointment as a teacher by presenting a fake proficiency certificate issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University, Balkhu.
Why teachers are important

The CIAA has stated that Budhathoki had obtained the position, benefits and facilities of a public servant by using a fake certificate for the post of lower secondary teacher at Mahendra Secondary School, Chandrapur, Rautahat. It has filed a case against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS, demanding imprisonment and fine.
According to CIAA Spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel, action has been sought against Budhathoki under Sections 12 and 29 of the previous Prevention of Corruption Act, 2017 and Sub-section (1) of Section 16 of the current Act.
