Chaudhary Group pledges Rs 250 m for quake-hit victims

KATHMANDU, May 6: Chaudhary Group has announced Rs 250 million as a long-term relief program for the quake-hit victims on Wednesday.

Organizing a press meet at Summit Hotel in Kupondole today, Binod Chaudhary, Chairman of Chaudhary Group, said the company will use the allocated relief amount to construct as many as 10,000 buildings for the quake-hit victims within six months.


According to Chaudhary, first Nepali billionaire listed by Forbes, Chaudhary Foundation will build 1,000 transitional houses while for the construction of remaining 9,000 buildings, donor countries, and private companies in and outside the country will be encouraged.

Chaudhary said new constructions will also target schools, colleges and rehabilitation of the quake victims.
