CNP Chief Conservation Officer Ram Chandra Kandel said that around 30 CCTV cameras will be installed in the gap of every 200 meters from Gondrang of Bharatpur to Tikauli of Ratnagar.
And for the project, a high level technical team of Nepal Army at the request of the CNP has carried out a feasibility study in the area, he said.
The move follows the killing of at least five wildlife every month by passing vehicles on the road, litters thrown by passerby and the area serving as a hideout for criminals and drug addicts, he added.
He said that the main monitor of the CCTV cameras will be put in the Armed Forest Guard Training Centre at Tikauli, while the CNP and District Forest Office would monitor it.
The project costs around 1.5 million to be funded by the World Wildlife Fund. RSS
