Talking to journalists in the capital, exhibitors said the event would provide visitors an opportunity to see, feel and learn more about latest products and services in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector. The five-day mega ICT fair going to be held at Bhrikuti Mandap of Kathmandu will feature 219 stalls, including 40 branded stalls.
Amrit Pant, general secretary of Computer Association Nepal (CAN), said major companies dealing with hardware, power solution, mobile phones and accessories, and software and payment solutions, among others, were participating in the event. The event will also be participated by Internet service providers, telecommunications companies, and ICT colleges and training institutions, among others.
Disclosing highlights of the event, Midas Technologies, the title sponsor of the IT fair, said it was introducing animated audio-visual tutorial package called ´Midas eClass´. Chhatra Hari Karki, managing director of Midas Group, said Midas eClass was prepared on the basis of national curriculum for school students. "With the help of this technology we can make learning more effective and interesting," he added.
Likewise, Neoteric Nepal is introducing Dell laptops and tablets with Windows 8 operating system supporting Nepali applications. Company officials said they would also be showcasing low-end tablets.

Web Surfer, on the other hand, is offering special Internet package for home users with attractive discounts, while Phone Pay is unveiling a new service through which customers can make purchases and conduct economic activities using mobile phones and Internet.
According to organizers, another main attraction of the event is the stall of Maya Animation Academy, where quick lessons on making 3D animated movies will be offered. Besides, CAN, in association with the Internet Society Nepal, is also organizing CAN ICT Conference 2013 on February 8 and 9 with the theme ´e-democracy´.
During the conference, papers on e-democracy, e-infrastructure, security and data protection and e-Participation in democracy, among others, will be presented by national and international experts.
Binod Dhakal, president of CAN, said the event was going to be more organized than previous editions.
"Visitors can purchase ticket online through our official website, while mobile application called N-location will guide visitors to stalls selling their desired products and services," he said.
Organizers are expecting footfall of more than 450,000 visitors during the five-day fair. Last year, 420,708 visitors attended the event.
