Organising a press meet jointly in the capital on Sunday, the organizations stressed the need of holding the election of local bodies as quickly as possible.[break]
The local bodies´ election was necessary to systematize the development activities at the local body by ending all sorts of misconducts there, Association Chairman Shreeram Acharya said.
Foreign assistance to the development of local bodies has gone down and the Local Self–Governance Act-2055 could not be implemented due to a delay in holding the local bodies´ election, Center´s Chairman Damodar Rijal said.
Guarantee of self-governance, formation of local service commission and allocation of sufficient social security budget are others demands put forth by the organizations.
