Call at 1234 for rescue needs, other supports

KATHMANDU, April 27: The government has launched hotline in a bid to make the rescue and disaster management works effective starting Monday.

People can call at 1234 hotline number for urgent rescue needs, earthquake updates and report about distribution of the relief materials and the status of the victims on Monday.


Organizing a press meet in Singha Durbar today, Chief Secretary Leelamani Paudel informed journalists about the launch of the hotline, hoping that it would help make the distribution of relief materials and rescue efforts more effective.

Paudel has appealed one and all not to collect old clothes for the distribution to the earthquake victims, saying that it would help cause epidemic. Instead, he urged people to deposit cash at bank account to extend help.
