Withdraw MRP decision: CNI
KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has condemned the government´s decision of fixing Maximum Retail Price (MRP´s) of 15 food items, saying that it is against the spirit of free market economy and urged the government to revoke the decision. Issuing a press statement, CNI on Monday requested the government to withdraw the decision as it is a move that indicates a roll back of market economic policy. “Fixing of MRP cannot control the artificial price rise unless the supply of the goods is smooth in the market and cartel of goods by traders and syndicate by transporters is controlled,” said the statement. CNI has requested the government to let the producers fix the price and to work for better production and supply of goods, said the statement.
Samsung opens Smartphone Cafe in New Road
KATHMANDU: Samsung Mobile has started the operation of its second Smartphone Café in Newroad. ICC-Nepal seeks govt support in int´l trade
KATHMANDU: International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)-Nepal has urged the government to help boost Nepal´s international trade through trade facilitation by removing existing bearers. A delegation led by ICC-Nepal president Rajesh Kaji Shrestha met Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudel on Monday to seek government support to enhance Nepal´s access to international market, a statement issued by ICC-Nepal said. On the occasion, Shrestha informed Poudel about the role of Paris-based ICC as an arbitrator in settling trade disputes and formulating policies to facilitate global trade. ICC, which has a network of country chapters in 148 countries, is working closely with World Trade Organization (WTO), World Bank and UN agencies in facilitating international trade. On the occasion, Poudel hailed the role of ICC in arbitrating international trade disputes and stressed the need to increase the role of ICC to support for arbitration facility in Nepal.

KATHMANDU: Ideal Model Higher Secondary School has become the winner of the 5th finals of ´Real School of Nepal´ held in the central development region. ´Real School of Nepal´ is a national level competition launched on August 2, where schools from all over Nepal are competing. The competition was held in eastern, western, and central regions.
