BUSINESS BRIEFS: Jagadamba Steels to sponsor FCAN Award

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Jagadamba Steels will sponsor the ´FCAN Award´ provided every year by Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN) every year, a statement said on Monday. FCAN Award is provided every year on November 7 to facilitate the people involved in the construction sector.



Jagadamba Steels will give FCAN Rs 1.299 million a year for the next three years, the statement added. Earlier too, Jagadamba Steels sponsored the event for 3 years.[break]



Max Media turns good samaritan



KATHMANDU
: Max Media, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign, recently provided books, stationeries and food commodities to the orphans at Gaurishanker Balmandir in Charikot, Dolakha. According to the statement, Max Media also provided food commodities sufficient for around 4 months. Rakesh Shrestha, secretary of the orphanage, received the assistance on behalf of the orphanage, Max Media said in a statement on Monday. There are 17 children in the orphanage, added the statement.



Bajajtantra´s 5th week winners announced



KATHMANDU
: Hansraj Hulaschand (HH) and Company -- the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorbikes in Nepal -- has announced the fifth week winners of its festive scheme ´Bajajtantra´. According to a press statement, Madhav Prasad Gautam of Puranchaur, Kaski has won cash prize of Rs 500,000, while Anish Tamrakar of Basantapur has won Samsung 40-inch LED TV. Similarly, Umesh Shrestha of Madhumalla won 20 grams gold and Sudhir Gautam of Imadole won a foreign trip for a couple.



Likewise, Surendra Sharma of Patichaur-9, Parbat has won a Dell laptop, while Ram Narayan Chaudhary of Bhangala-4 and Shree Raghupati Jute Mill, Biratnagar have won a Samsung refrigerator and a Nokia smartphone, respectively. Under the scheme, people can win instant cash discount up to Rs 100,000 through scratch card.



Commerz and Trust opens ATM in Baireni



KATHMANDU
: Commerz and Trust Bank has opened ATM kiosk in Baireni of Dhading district. The ATM was brought into operation to extend banking facility to locals and people travelling on Prithivi Highway, says a bank statement. Meanwhile, the bank is soon launching an initial public offering to raise Rs 600 million. After the IPO, the bank´s paid-up capital will touch Rs 2 billion.
