A joint meeting of chicken traders, farmers and feed producers took the decision to raise the price second time in a week. Earlier, they have raised the price to Rs 185 per kg.
Narayan Hari Khatri, president of Nepal Feeds Association - a group of capital-based feed producers, with the rise in chicken prices, farmers will get Rs 140 per kg from traders.
The entrepreneurs have also raised feed prices by Rs 65 per kg from Saturday. According to Khatri, category A and category B feeds have been priced at Rs 1550 per kg each, while the price of category C feed has been fixed at Rs 1500 per kg. He said rising prices of inputs such as maize and mustard oil cake prompted them to raise feed prices.
JAC vehicles in Nepal
KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Vehicles from Hefei-based Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co Ltd, also know as JAC, have become the latest entrant from the growing Chinese automobile industry in Nepal.
Issuing a statement Tuesday, JAC Motors Nepal Pvt Ltd, a part of the RINA group, said it had started selling the brand in Nepal. “We have launched the brand in Nepal on the back of its increasing popularity and positive response around the world,” the statement reads.
The Chinese automobile manufacturer´s products include the Refine MPV (minivan), passenger cars, sedans, buses, trailers, light and heavy duty trucks, and engineering machinery. JAC was founded in September 30, 1999. The company has R&D units in China, Japan and Italy and will soon open one in India, it said in the statement.
Apart from ISO certifications, the company´s products have won other awards and certificates like Export Brand of year 2006, Brand China 2006, 3A Quality of China, Homologation of Russia, Homologation of GCC, Homologation of Malaysia, Homologation of Ukraine, JAC Motors Nepal said, adding that the JAC has an annual production capacity of 650,000 vehicles.
