BUSINESS BRIEFS: 15 flights canceled at TIA

KATHMANDU, April 10: Domestic airlines canceled 15 flights and international operators suffered a delay on Saturday as radar maintenance works at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) hit operations.



"Some 10 percent of total domestic flights were canceled on the day," said Dinesh Prasad Shrestha, the general manager of TIA. As for the international carriers, they faced delay between half an hour and one-and-a-half hours. [break]



Shrestha noted that it was airlines´ duty to notify the passengers about the possibility of flight cancellations.



TIA has said the maintenance works carried out for overhauling the radar at the airport could continue to affect flights till April 23. The radar was installed in 1988.





Bajaj introduces New Year scheme
