Talking to RSS briefly upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), British Minister of State Duncan expressed his hope that his Nepal visit would be successful in reviewing the assistance being provided by his government to Nepal in the sector of poverty alleviation and in finalizing future strategy on it also. During his stay in Nepal, Mr Duncan is scheduled to hold separate meetings with the top leaders of parties and the representatives of British organizations supporting the development projects here as well.
He said that during his political meetings here he would urge the political leaders to reach to a consensus as early as possible.
The British Government is providing financial and technical assistance to Nepal in various sectors including climate change, human rights, development, health, education, in drafting the inclusive constitution and ending impunity.
The diplomatic relations between Nepal and Britain was established in 1816.This is the third-time visit of Duncan to Nepal in the past two years.
Upon his arrival at the TIA, British Minister of State Duncan was welcomed by British Ambassador to Nepal John Tucknott, senior officials at the Embassy and the Foreign Ministry.
