The five-member Committee was formed by the government with a view to controlling irregularities and corruption taking place during the road constructions.[break]
Nepal Government Secretary Jaymukunda Khanal is the coordinator of the Committee.
"Most of the files and documents belonging to the Bhaktapur Municipality smell irregularities and so we have seized them, said Mr Khanal.
The Committee carried out monitoring of three roadways that were constructed by the Municipality.
During the monitoring, the roads constructed by the Bhaktapur Municipality were found built without meeting the legal and technical criteria, he said.
Similarly, materials used for constructing roads were found to be sub-standard, according to Committee secretary and undersecretary at the National Vigilance Center, Sher Bahadur Dhungana.
