KATHMANDU, Nov 17: The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has honoured the best taxpayers on the occasion of National Tax Day, 2082 BS.
The IRD honoured the best taxpayers from various sectors as per the income details of Fiscal Year (FY), 2080/81 BS amidst a special function on Monday.

Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has been honoured for being the highest taxpayer towards the company. Similarly, other honoured companies are Third Eye International, Dabar Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Verisk Nepal Pvt Ltd, Poshak Breeder Farm Pvt Ltd, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital, Soaltee Hotel Limited, Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Bhotekoshi Power Company Ltd and IME Limited.
The government honoured Raj Bahadur Shah for paying the highest income tax. Those honoured companies are CDS and Clearing Limited and VF Services Pvt Ltd. CDS and Clearing Limited had paid taxes from Rs 500 million to Rs 1 billion while VF Services Pvt Ltd up to Rs 500 million.
Likewise, Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited was honoured as the best taxpayer for paying the highest VAT while Unilever Nepal as best taxpayer for paying the highest tax continuously from 2076 BS to 2082 BS. The Department honoured the Inland Revenue Office, Baglung, for the best performance last year.
