A declaration issued after the meeting of the 43rd NBA Executive Council held in Lalitpur stressed on the proportional inclusion of the marginalized community in all state agencies. The NBA council meeting has demanded to hold dialogues with Madhes-based agitating parties and settle the issues related to citizenship as well.
According to the NBA, the meeting has also sought a high-level judicial probe commission to investigate into the serious violation of human rights during the Madhes protest from both the agitating side and the government bodies.
NBA has also strongly condemned the Indian blockade resulting in serious humanitarian crisis and dragged the attention of the United Nations, international communities and neighboring countries to address the problems. The meeting also decided to pressure the government to seek necessary steps to end the hardship of people due to the ongoing crisis.
The Lalitpur declaration has also dragged the attention of the government to immediately distribute relief to the quake victims and urged to gear up reconstruction of the structures damaged by the April 25 earthquake.
The meeting has also stressed on serious discussion among the political parties on the ratification of the Rome statute and convention against forced disappearance to end impunity and to make perpetrators accountable for serious crimes.
More than eight hundred lawyers participated in the convention for two days in Lalitpur.
