Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters Club Nepal on Monday envoy Shams said Bangladesh is aware of the fuel crisis Nepal is currently facing and added that her country is ready to provide seaport for transit to fetch fuel and LP gas from third countries.
"Bangladesh has already permitted Nepal to use Mangala and Chatgaun as seaports," she said, adding, "her country is also positive toward Nepal's request for avian fuel."
She pointed out on the need to review motor vehicle agreement signed between Nepal and Bangladesh without delay reasoning that Nepal's cargo vehicles can pass into Bangladesh without condition while her country is deprived of the same transit right.
"Since there is already a railway service extension up-to Rohanpur , Singha Durbar and Radhikapur, Nepal can import and export goods by capitalizing on this route," Shamsa said, "expressing belief that Nepal will endorse the proposal on exporting 208 goods to Bangladesh which are duty free."
She further said Bangladesh is always working toward strengthening ties among the SAARC countries.
