"Until women wish to challenge themselves, they can stand firm in any field," says Pasang Lhamu Tamang, a 20-year-old student. For a young woman who is not used to working and travelling often, carrying her first job was quite challenging. Currently a student at Trichandra College, she has been working as a delivery girl for Foodmandu from October, 2018.“My parents told me that I could not perform well in jobs that needed physical strength. “Well, this is my job. I deliver food to the people, carrying big bag packs and riding my scooter. No matter what the weather is, I deliver the ordered food. Now after working I know the life outside my space. I interact with people. The thousand rupees which I used to ask from my parents have now a value because now I know how hard it is to earn," said Pasang.Besides food delivery, Pasang is studying German language, since she wants to pursue her further studies in Germany.."I am learning new things everyday in my life," said Pasang.
