Baglung wildfire rages on after a day

Teams from locals and Nisikhola police station have been deployed to douse the fire.

BAGLUNG, Feb 15: The wildfire that broke out at Sinwadwar area of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6 in Baglung district is yet to be extinguished. Surya Bahadur Gharti Magar, chairperson of the rural municipality, said that the fire, which started at 2 pm on Friday, could not be extinguished yet.


The fire broke out in community forests in Sinwadwar, Sip, Tigrapani, Koskan and Sun areas. More than 100 sheep sheds in the area are at risk due to the fire, he said.

“There are more than 100 cowsheds and thousands of sheep and goats, all of whom are at risk of fire,” Chairperson Magar said.
