KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Vehicle sellers affected by damages during the recent Gen Z movement have called for relief to compensate for losses caused by vandalism. The NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal raised the issue with Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal.
A delegation led by NADA President Karan Chaudhary met the finance minister, urging measures to safeguard business owners. Chaudhary highlighted the declining national economy and stressed the need for government initiatives to boost business confidence. He also emphasized that insurance payouts should be expedited to cover damages sustained during the protests.

Chaudhary further called for policy reforms aimed at revitalizing Nepal’s sluggish automobile sector.
During the discussion, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay assured that vehicles would soon be operational in Nepal, despite delays caused by road blockages that hindered their entry through Tatopani Customs.
Finance Minister Khanal acknowledged the significant losses suffered by the automobile industry due to the protests and reiterated the government’s commitment to provide relief wherever possible.
Also present at the meeting were NADA Vice President Nirakar Shrestha, Secretary Bikram Singhania, Treasurer Milan Babu Malla, Deputy Treasurer Pankaj Agrawal, and Central Committee members Akash Golchha, Prakash Kapuri, Meghraj Paudel, Yamuna Shrestha, and Abhik Jyoti.
