KATHMANDU, Nov 7: The Employment Permit System (EPS) Korea Branch of the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) has clarified that the worker selection process through South Korea's EPS system is fair and reliable. It has urged workers not to believe any false promises made by individuals, firms, or social media platforms.
In a press release, the EPS Korea Branch requested the public not to trust false assurances from any individual, firm or social media account and to remain cautious of misleading publicity, misinformation and rumours to avoid being defrauded.

“As it has been found that various fake Facebook and social media pages have been created using the Branch’s name to mislead service seekers, the EPS Korea Branch requests all individuals studying the Korean language and waiting for the ‘issue’ process after being included in the roster not to follow such baseless and misleading information,” the statement read.
Since the signing of the Employment Permit System (EPS) agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of South Korea in 2007, around 120,000 Nepali workers have obtained employment opportunities in South Korea.
“The headquarters of the Human Resources Development (HRD) Service of Korea registers these files and lists the names on the roster. Afterwards, the selection for employment is carried out by job centres under Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labour, which deliver the files to employers. The employers then select workers and send the labour contracts through Korea’s employment selection system,” the Branch stated in the press release.
