Around 45 families displaced due to flood in Gorkha

GORKHA, July 14: A total of 45 families have been displaced when floods occurred in Arkhet river in Thumi VDC in the north of Gorkha district.



Settlements in both sides of the river were displaced from floods triggered by rains for the past three days, said VDC Secretary Tirtha Bhatta and informed that they have been taking shelter at their relatives´. As floods have not been subsided, more feared will be displaced, said a local Tara Bhatta.[break]



Displaced Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Gopal Pariyar, Rajan Dahal and Ram Bahadur Dahal have called for state cooperation to them. Earlier, 14 houses had been displaced in the floods in June 25.
