Arihant defeated RMC Yodha Birgunj by six wickets at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur in the first match of the day while Maruti edged past Bagmati Chargers Bhairahawa by eight wickets in the second match of the day.[break]
Arihant won the toss and elected to field first. RMC Yodha put up 118/7 in the allotted 20 overs as Pawan Agrawal scored 29 runs off 30 balls.
Arihant gave away 22 runs as extras while Mahesh Jatia (17 runs) and Vivek Bhojania (unbeaten 16 runs) were also made major contributions. Shambhu Rathi claimed three wickets while Manish Kothari, Arun Bihani and Gaurav Sethia took a wicket each.
Arihant successfully chased the 119-run target in 15.5 overs losing four wickets as man-of-the- match Shailesh Sethia scored unbeaten 47 runs off 51 balls and Gaurav Sethia hit 23 runs off 13 balls. Pawan Agrawal took two wickets for RMC Yodha.
In the second match of the day, Bagmati Chargers elected to bat and was all out for 74 runs in 16.4 overs. Man-of-the-match Sumit Sharma claimed four wickets as well as Naveen Jain and Umesh Kochar took two wickets each to bundle out Bagmati in the low score.
Girdhari Lal Sharma remained unbeaten for 28 runs and Rahul Agrawal scored 10 runs for Bagmati but the rest of the batsmen could not reach the double digit score. Five batsmen of Bagmati were duck out.
In reply, Maruti met the target in 9.3 overs losing only two wickets. Hitesh Dalmiya and Amol Sharma put up a 57-run first wicket partnership. Dalmiya scored 32 runs off 23 balls before Ashok Daga claimed his wicket. Sharma scored 21 runs off 25 balls before Raunak Agrawal bowled him out.
