KATHMANDU, April 7: The Armed Police Force (APF) seized a vehicle with clothes worth approximately Rs 1.08 million from Bhaluwahi village in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-23 of Bara district on Sunday.
The vehicle, a Tata pickup (Ba Pra 01-027 Cha 8503), was loaded with 20 sacks of clothes near the Bhutan Devi Temple in Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 and was heading towards Jitpur-Simara.

Based on a specific tip-off, a security team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lokendra Subba, under the proposed Border Security Battalion Birgunj, intercepted the vehicle. The APF team seized the goods, which were suspected to be smuggled, along with the vehicle.
After following the vehicle, the driver abandoned it in Bhaluwahi and fled. The seized clothing items including shirts, suits, and sarees along with the pickup truck have been handed over to the Birgunj Customs Office for necessary action.
The total customs declaration value of the recovered vehicle is Rs 2.5 million, while the clothing items are valued at Rs 1.08 million. The combined customs declaration value has been set at Rs 3.58 million and submitted to the customs office.
