The central committee meeting of the union has decided to submit a memorandum to various government offices to pile pressure on the authorities to fulfill their demand for soft loans to students for self employment, stated the ANNISUR Coordinator Ramesh Malla. The union has also demanded that the government provide skill-oriented trainings to youth.
The student wing has once again raised the issue of fees, warning of stringent protests if the school fees are hiked in the next academic session.
"We will continue to stage protests until the authorities set scientific criteria for determination of school fee," claimed Malla in his statement. At the beginning of the ongoing academic session, the union leaders had carried out monitoring of the Valley-based private schools. They had asked the schools to return the amount hiked in school fees to guardians.
Expressing concern over irregularities in granting of affiliation to new medical colleges, the student wing has expressed its solidarity with Dr Govinda KC, who is on hunger strike demanding reforms in the medical sector.
