Yubaraj Ghimire -- president of Asia Media Forum -- inaugurated the meeting by highlighting the needs for fostering professional journalism among the working journalists. He urged journalists to understand the code of ethics in order to raise their professionalism and work for safeguarding ethics of journalism.
The executive members of the Asia Media Forum also shared their views and felt importance of the code of ethics and recommended that AMF initiate and create a platform for journalists to debate and discuss the code of ethics.
Similarly, Shiva Gaunle, General Secretary of AMFC presented annual report on activities and Puran Bista, treasurer of AMFC presented the annual financial report. The book of the year 2009 "Missing in the Media" was also released during the meeting.
