KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Ambassador of European and Head of Mission of Nepal to the EU, Ram Mani Pokharel presented his letters of credence to Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council today at the Headquarters of the General Secretariat of the European Council, Brussels.

On the occasion, Ambassador Pokharel expressed appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Nepal to the EU for their continued political and economic cooperation and support to Nepal, said the Embassy of Nepal, Mission of Nepal to the EU in its press note today.
Similarly, he briefed President Van Rompuy that the ongoing political process is going to be concluded very soon and Nepal will wholeheartedly dedicate herself in the much overdue economic transformation. He requested for an enhanced level of economic support and cooperation to Nepal from the EU for the next level of transformations of Nepal.
In response, European Council President Rompuy pledged EU´s support and cooperation to the Nepal´s ongoing political and peace processes in the future, too.
On the occasion, the two exchanged views and opinions on the matters of mutual interests as well, it is learnt.
Pokharel is a residential ambassador of Nepal to Belgium.
