VC Bhandari on Wednesday evening had sought help from the local administration to unlock her office thro. However, the agitating workers padlocked the office again on Thursday morning. [break]The agitating doctors and students of PAHS also staged a sit-in in front of the hospital throughout the day to prevent Bhandari from entering the office.
A large number of security personnel were deployed at the hospital to prevent untoward incident. The government has formed a three-member probe committee after various rounds of talks between the PAHS management and protestors failed to yield result. Following the formation of the committee, VC Bhandari has been suspended as per the PAHS regulation.
The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday issued an interim order against suspension of VC Bhandari. The doctors and health workers have been organizing a series of protests after VC Bhandari appointed Dr Bhattacharya as the rector of PAHS.
They have been demanding an end to political interference in the hospital.
