KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Afghanistan has won the Eighth SAFF Championship title defeating defending champion India 2-0 in the final match played at the Dasharath Stadium here in capital on Wednesday evening.
Afghanistan scored the goals at either half of the match. Mustafa Azadzoy struck the first goal at the eighth minute of the match whereas Sanjar M Ahmade scored the second goal at the 62nd minute. [Break]
With the win, Afghanistan has also avenged the final defeat in the last edition of the SAFF Championship.
Afghanistan had entered into the final beating host Nepal 0-1 where as India booked meeting with Afghanistan after beating Maldives with the same score line.
