Aarati to provide zinc sheets in subsidized rate to quake survivors

MORANG, May 24: The Aarati Strips, a multinational company located in Biratnagar, is to provide zinc corrugated sheets in a subsidized rate to quake survivors in Nepal. The company exports zinc corrugated sheets worth Rs 6 billion to India annually.The company has determined the retail price of each bundle of zinc sheets along with tax from Rs 2,890 to Rs 8,436 based on the gage of the sheets. The company has been producing 300 metric tonnes of zinc sheets every day. A total 400 Nepali workers are working in the company factory.

It may be noted that in present situation where there is high demand for corrugated zinc sheets in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, the government has prohibited the export of zinc sheets.
