Police barred a group of UDMF cadres who tried to gherao Nepali Congress leader Lila Koirala's house. The UDMF has planned to foil the NC general convention and today's gherao was a part of the UDMF protests.Police personnel were mobilized from early Sunday morning after the UDMF cadres began protesting in front of NC leaders houses.
"We maintain restrained for around four hours," DSP Nakul Pokharel added," However, we had to use force after the protestors started pelting petrol bombs at us."
He informed that the police fired seven rounds of tear gas canisters to disperse the protestors.
The injured protestors are receiving treatment at Janaki Medical College.
