The bodies which were brought to Nepalgunj in a chopper four hours after the accident have been airlifted to Kathmandu for autopsy after Nepalgunj Hospital could not carry out an autopsy check-up, Chief District Officer of Banke told Republica Online.
The deceased pilot and co-pilot along with other four injured have been brought to TU Teaching Hospital this morning, said DSP Bhim Kiran Bogati of District Police Office, Banke.
"A chopper carrying two bodies and four injured took off at 10:30 am from Nepalgunj airport today," Bogati said.
According to Bogati, Megharaj Giri, 35, of Jumla, Chandannath, Jagadamba Khatri (Giri), 25, his two-year-old son Anil of Chandannath-5 and Dhananjaya Khatri, 31, of Jumla have been taken to Kathmandu.
Similarly, 30-year-old Laxmi Sunar of Chandannath-6, Laxman Khadka, 34, of Jumla Patmara-7 were taken to Lakhanau for further treatment while Ganesh Bhattachan, 37, Sonali Bhattachan, 16, of Chandannath Municipality-7 , and Govinda Prasad Bhandari of Nuwakot are receiving treatment at Kohalpur-based Nepalgunj Medical College
Pilot Dinesh Neupane, 29, and Co-pilot Santosh Rana died when the Jumla-bound Air Kasthamandap aircraft made an emergency landing at Chilkhaya-2 in Kalikot district on Friday.
The ill-fated aircraft had taken off at 12:16 p.m. from Nepalgunj airport for Jumla with 11 people on board, including the two-man crew.
The single-engine plane lost contact with the airport tower 11 minutes after take-off. It crash-landed at Chilakhaya VDC-2 at 1:05 pm, after running into technical difficulties.
