An investigation conducted by District Education Offices (DEOs) found that as many as 376 candidates produced fake documents. The DEOs have seized the exam entrance passes issued to these candidates. [break]
Of four districts in the zone, the highest number of fake documents came from Parvat district. Of the 323 applicants from the district, 226 applicants were found to have submitted fake documents.
Similarly, of the 251 applicants from Myagdi district, 122 had submitted fake documents. The number of candidates with fake documents from Baglung stands at 28.
A majority of fake documents were found to have been made with the help of private educational institutions.
Interestingly, such irregularities were not found in applications from Mustang district.
Parvat´s District Education Officer Narayan Bhattachan said the educational institutions that gave recommendations to candidates who have no teaching experience would face action.
“The candidate as well as the recommending institution will face action,” he said.
Investigations have shown that in Myagdi, the Mount Everest Boarding Schools issued fake documents to 32 candidates, Galaishwar Adarsha Secondary School to 10, Baini Boarding School to 10, Lokdeep Secondary School to six, West Point Secondary School to six, Buddha Academy to four, and Little Garden School to four candidates.
Applicants said the schools charged big sums of money for issuing such documents.
The Education Service Commission is conducting teaching license tests from March 5 to March 7.
