KATHMANDU, May 16: A car hit and killed a child in Baneshwar. Kathmandu Police SP Apil Bohara identified the victim as three-year-old Shivansh Jha.
The car, bearing registration number Ba Pra 01-31 Cha 9563, was heading from Katyani Chowk towards Bhimsengola when it struck Shivansh near Baneshwar.

The impact caused severe head injuries, and doctors at KMC Hospital pronounced Shivansh dead during treatment.
Police have taken the driver, 55-year-old Ramesh Kumar Shrestha of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-31, into custody. The child's father, Alok Kumar, had been living in a rented apartment in Baneshwar for a long time.
