KATHMANDU, July 25: A total of 21 lawmakers from the Nepali Congress (NC) in Bagmati Province have registered a no-confidence motion to remove Bahadur Singh Lama from his post as Parliamentary Party (PP) leader, which would also lead to his ousting as Chief Minister.
According to a lawmaker, the no-confidence motion—led by Indra Baniya—was filed along with the signatures of 21 Provincial Assembly members. The motion seeks Lama’s removal both from the party leadership and the Chief Minister’s position.

Prior to this development, three NC ministers — Minister for Culture and Tourism Bimal Thakuri, Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Madhukumar Shrestha and Minister for Youth and Sports Meen Krishna Maharjan– had submitted their resignations
Their signatures are also included in the no-confidence motion filed with the party's parliamentary caucus. This marks a significant shift within the NC's internal politics in Bagmati Province as the party moves to replace its own CM through formal parliamentary procedures.
